SEP2 Achieves Bronze EcoVadis Rating, Placing in Top 35% Globally

We are proud to announce that SEP2 has been awarded a Bronze Medal in our latest EcoVadis Sustainability Assessment. This recognition officially places us in the Top 35% of companies evaluated by EcoVadis globally, marking a significant milestone in our journey toward ethical, environmental, and social excellence.

With an overall score of 64/100, we performed exceptionally well within the “computer programming, consultancy and related activities” sector. These results reinforce our “Tech Driven, People Powered” philosophy and our fundamental commitment to doing good, demonstrating that industry-leading cyber security and sustainable business practices go hand-in-hand.

The SEP2 team has done a great job in updating our Environmental policies to be awarded the EcoVadis Bronze Medal. Our commitment to “doing good” is one of our core principles, and as we pass 100 employees, the need for a more defined and robust approach to our commitment to ESG principles is paramount. Over the last year, our ESG committee has worked with all areas of the business to capture their input and bring these values into our day to day. My sincerest thanks to everyone involved!

Driven by the SEP2 ESG Committee

This achievement is a direct result of the foundations laid by our ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) Committee, which we launched at the beginning of 2025. This passionate group of volunteers from across the business ensures that sustainability is not just a “tick-box exercise” but is embedded in our internal policies, our culture, and our daily practices.

From proactive risk management to initiatives like “No Mow May” and our Electric Car Scheme, the committee is dedicated to turning our good intentions into real-world impact. Our EcoVadis Bronze status provides the baseline we need to set even more ambitious goals for the future.

Achieving the EcoVadis Bronze Medal is a fantastic testament to the company's commitment, and a significant step up from our 'Committed' badge last year. From a Facilities perspective, this award validates the real-world impact of our company initiatives and the core work we've done on energy consumption and carbon auditing. It’s about embedding sustainability into our day-to-day operations and creating a foundational baseline to drive even more ambitious environmental goals, pushing us further on the path to Net Zero.

Our Performance Highlights

The EcoVadis assessment evaluates performance across four key pillars. Our scores in these categories place us well above industry benchmarks:

  • Environment: We ranked in the Top 16% of our industry. EcoVadis highlighted our strengths in setting quantitative objectives for energy consumption and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, alongside our proactive carbon auditing.
  • Sustainable Procurement: We are particularly proud to be in the Top 15% for this category. This reflects our commitment to holding our supply chain to high environmental and social standards through our supplier code of conduct.
  • Labour & Human Rights: We placed in the Top 24%, with specific praise for our robust employee health and safety policies and our measures to prevent discrimination and harassment.
  • Ethics: Ranked in the Top 27%, our ISO 27001 certification, whistleblower procedures, and anti-corruption training were identified as core strengths.

Leading the Way in Carbon Management

We have also achieved an “Intermediate” Carbon Management Level. This confirms that we have established core GHG management systems and maintain a verified reporting process for Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.

In line with global efforts toward Net Zero, we have already implemented several key actions, including reducing the energy consumption of our IT infrastructure and transitioning to the purchase of renewable energy.

The Path to B Corp

While the EcoVadis Bronze Medal marks a major achievement, we are not standing still. Members of our ESG Committee have already set their sights on further elevating the business, with the long-term ambition of enabling SEP2 to become B Corp certified.

We are already identifying areas for improvement, such as enhancing our documentation for waste management and further integrating social and environmental clauses into all supplier contracts. Our goal is to use this EcoVadis feedback to strive for Silver and Gold status in our future assessments.
