As we approach the company’s tenth anniversary, it’s a good time for reflection, review and, most importantly, improvement. With this in mind, SEP2 are thrilled to announce a fundamentally realigned Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and new Wingman Services, purpose-built to deliver value and clarity for our customers and competitive advantage for SEP2 as a business. Our goal is to be the best independent cyber security MSSP in the UK, and to continue to lead the way through innovation and technical excellence.

I’m a firm believer that if you can’t explain something clearly in under two minutes then you don’t understand it well enough (although that might just be a reflection of my own attention span). That belief has shaped the new Wingman GTM strategy, something that our entire team can clearly articulate to our customers, partners and prospects. This not only ensures that we have clarity of vision, but also that everyone external to SEP2 has a clear understanding of what we do and don’t do before they even meet us.

Our previous approach, while successful, was the culmination of nine years of hard work in different areas of the business, and had started to feel like separate entities under a SEP2 umbrella. What we want to achieve with this change is a clear and well-defined approach, focused on seven key areas, where we can offer our customers something that no other MSSP can. By bringing these services under the Wingman brand and structuring our teams internally around a new Wingman Secure Operations methodology, we can achieve a clear and simple GTM strategy that sets SEP2 and our customers and partners up for long term, sustainable success. In addition, building AI into each of our services to enhance them and ensure we are staying ahead of the curve is core to our new strategy. Following the launch of our Agentic SOC in 2025 you can expect to see more AI-related updates to each of the Wingman pillars as we work our way through R&D and beta testing with our customer advocacy group.

The Foundation: Why Seven Wingman Service Pillars?

At SEP2, we are conscious that many providers offer a one-stop shop for all things cyber security/IT/Networking/connectivity and more. That isn’t something that we are interested in, and we don’t believe that a business built on offering a best-in-class service can hope to achieve. 

Instead, we have chosen to focus on a handful of key areas that we believe make up a significant portion of any enterprise security strategy and build services that really add value.  By doing this we can provide true partnership to each of our customers by providing a platform they can build on as their security and compliance requirements grow. For example, customers using Wingman MDR can very easily build on that service and the knowledge within the SEP2 team to add Wingman EDR, Secure Access, GRC or others without the pain of onboarding with a new technical team and all of the cost (both financial and time/resource) that goes into spinning up a brand new service.
